How to make a QR code necklace

QR code necklace

Ever wondered what to gift your special ones on their birthdays or anniversary?
Something better than chocolates, greetings, cards, something special. something you could easily make, and show how much you care for them.
well, here is an awesome, cool and geeky necklace you can make for your special ones. quite simple, yet special.

The QR necklace!

QR is the acronym for Quick Response which is a code used in most advertisements and products for information about them. you can make your own code using an app or the website, and write your own personal message. the qr code can only be read through special QR code readers which are available on android, apple, windows and blackberry.

Things you need :
1. Small size PCB
2. Papers
3. Small piece of wire

#Steps:

Step 1. Download a QR code scanner on your mobile. It is available on all android, i OS, windows and blackberry devices. Or go on www.the-qrcode-generator.com to make your own QR code message.

Step 2. Print the message on a piece of paper. Once it is cut into proper desirable size, laminate it.

Step 3. Now take a sheet of plastic or stiff material mainly for support. Care should be taken that it should not be too heavy.

Step 4.Make two holes on the top side for holder. Take a thin wire or a upin to make the holder. Cover the ends of the wire with some tape. Glue the laminated QR code properly on the sheet of plastic. Make sure the direction of the code is upright.

Step 5. Now make use of texture white to make the surface plane n uniform from all sides. This also makes the locket look elegant (only a part shown in picture above).

Step 6. Now color the locket sides and back with the color of your choice. Let it dry for an hour properly.

Step 7.Make some designs using glitter or paint if needed. Apply a coat of varnish to make it look glossy and shiny.

Step 9. Attach a nice piece of thread or chain and you are done! Scan the code to make sure you get what you have typed.
